Normally we would never consider a road trip but due to the pandemic that we are on our first road trip was done back in May when Michael was 16 months old and Apollos just 8 weeks old.
I was actually pretty nervous about making this trip…how would Michael be on the plane, away from home, away from his normal everyday life…but it was a major success!
This trip was by far the most exciting and adventurous trip we have yet been on! Not to mention the fact that my sister and brother in law joined us made it that much more exciting! We booked our trip back in February for a travel date in June bookings were done through expedia.com. We were able to coordinate our flights, hotel, and airport transportation all through Expedia.
I am never ready to say goodbye to summer! I am going to miss every bit of those long sunny days!
After traveling back and forth from Florida to Virginia and vise-versus several times a year, I have developed a strict dress code for myself for optimum comfort. Two things I hate when traveling: freezing on the plane and being swollen for days.
Chris and I decided to visit Miami for President's day weekend because we wanted a getaway & to celebrate our 2 year anniversary a little early.
"The Cayman Islands allowed us to enjoy the beautiful beaches, awesome snorkeling, diving site, exploring caves, and romantic evenings. It was the perfect mix of adventure and leisure." - Niza Westphalen.
The town was covered with white homes built on the edge of the mountain, it was remarkably stunning! Aside from the views, Oia had the most amazing designer shops, almost every shop that comes to mind. My only complaint was how overly crowed it was, especially when the sun was beginning to set.
Sailing the Mediterranean was an adventurous journey I would recommend over and over again. If you were to ask Mike, he would tell you this was by far his favorite adventure. Santorini is surrounded by water, mountains, and volcanos. Sailing allowed us to see a whole new side of Santorini.
When we unloaded onto shore, the mountain side was massive and overwhelming, with little roads going back and forth up the mountain, resembling a trail. The higher the bus took us on the mountain, the more beautiful and breathtaking the site. We then arrived into the town in which we were staying, small roads, filled with lots of people.
Exploring the Capitol Town was my absolute favorite! Oh the shops, the restaurants, the views...it was truly breathtaking. On our last full day, we spent it shopping and searching for sea glass.
Our Second Day in Mykonos we spent in Delos, which is a small island on the outskirts of Mykonos. The island no longer exhibits any habitation and is used as an archeological site. It served as a port during the 1st millennium B.C. The experience was incredible especially to witness how the people lived, the market places, the theatre and the history behind it all.

What took our breath away the most was, of course, the history and architecture of the city. We were blown away by all of the history that consumed this city. To think of how long ago these buildings were constructed, how limited the people were with resources and yet these are some of the most ornate and complex buildings I have ever seen. We couldn't help but think of Christ and how lost this nation was with all their mythology yet Christ was preached and the gospel was spread to the Gentiles.
Spending the day after Christmas on the ocean was a real treat! To simply feel warmth, sunshine and the wind blowing against your face felt ahhmazing! The water was a little cold for me so I just soaked up the sun. I am reminiscing as I look through this photos in sweatpants, long sleeve and hoodie! haha
This past Christmas season our family (including Mila) in Florida and that meant taking her with us on the plane. After this past trip Mila is a professional flyer haha she has flown 6 times!! So I thought I would share with you guys some tips and tricks to flying with your own pup!
When I visit Florida aside from the ocean, I am completely mesmerized by Florida's agriculture being able to see how God created so many different colors, plants, trees, and atmospheres. I am always so amazed how in just two hours I went from a dark cold day to a warm sunny day! God completely takes my breath away.
Summers in Florida are sunny, rainy, and vibrant. I couldn't get enough of all the vibrant colors, trees and plants. They were just beaming with radiance. Truly takes my breath away to see God's creation all around including the rain drops on this palm tree leaf.
We dedicated an entire day to shop and in between I was driving Mike crazy being a tourist. haha Making him take a picture next to everything! Mike and I both thoroughly enjoy shopping which makes it so much more fun! Our first stop...the famous Rodeo Drive. (should have been our last haha you'll spend your money wayyy too quickly!)
n our drive from LAX to our hotel we immediately spotted the infamous Hollywood sign (as tourist we got soooo excited) I wanted to get as close as possible to get a picture! I quickly found out that we could actually hike up to see it!
Happy Monday Ladies, if you follow me on social media you may have noticed that Mike and I were in L.A. this past week to celebrating his 28th birthday!! For several months now Mike and I have been craving a much need getaway to simply relax and spend time with just each other. What better time to get away than on your birthday week!
It's been a week since we arrived back from our most recent trip to Aspen, Colorado. What a dream it was–a true Winter Wonderland. All I wanted to do was ride the Ski Lift and capture Aspen's beauty. Every scene completely took my breath away and reminded me of our Creator.
When I was a little girl weekends were spent at the beach especially Sanibel. I remember the first time going to Sanibel and hating it. All I wanted to do was play in the sand but with every step I took it felt as if I was stepping on rocks. My dad then explained to me that these shells I was calling rocks were beautiful treasures of the sea created by God. There were thousands of them. these shells were every where. It wasn't until later in life that I was able to see their beauty and appreciate how marvelous this island truly is and how greatful I was to call Southwest Florida home. ♡
As winter passes by I find myself reminiscing of our honeymoon and day dream of being kissed by the sun again. I never thought a year would fly by so fast and that I would miss the sun oh so much.
If only it were summer all year round; I love the heat, everyone’s sun kissed skin, the resort style clothing, and the endless time spent outdoors.
