HELLO FROM THE SUNSHINE STATE

I wanted to formally dedicate a post updating you about our move, just in case you missed it on social media. So here we are in Florida—I truly cannot even believe it. It still doesn’t feel real. Most of you have been left wondering why, or coming to your own conclusions. The why-Moving to Florida has allowed us to chase after our own dreams, get out of our comfort zone, take risks, and seek what is best in raising our boys with our christian beliefs.

On December 4, 2020 we closed on our Virginia home and headed to Florida. But the transitioning all started back in September. If you are new to the blog I grew up in Florida was born and raised there and met my husband, Mike, in college in lakeland, Fl. When he graduated he was determined he wouldn’t move back to his home state, Virginia, but the Lord had it otherwise. So when we married in 2013 I moved to Virginia and our life together started. Mike went to work and established a career in his family’s business, so in my mind Virginia was our forever destination…and I was ok with that—we both were. As time went on, we both began to enjoy life in VA, especially after finding our church, the Lord grew our family that we oh so desperately prayed for and then one day we both asked ourselves what the next 10 years would look like. After much thought, prayer, and discussion we realized it was time to close this chapter, take risks, and move forward. So in October we decided to meet with an agent about selling our home. We wanted to make sure the numbers worked, well they did. So we flew down to Florida and decided to look at houses and crazy enough we found one! We flew back home and listed our VA home the following week, and in 6 days we were under contract! Yikes! Mike thought this process would take a minimum of 6 months, but the Lord had it otherwise.

We are so thankful for our time in Virginia, the Lord blessed us greatly with the most amazing church family, God grew our family, and work wise Mike grew tremendously. He learned from such great leaders and business owners. Thank you for your prayers, for following along, and encouraging me throughout the way.

“The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.” Proverbs 16:9

“Trust in the Lord with all of your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.” Proverbs 3:5

“In all of your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” Proverbs 3:6

Currently, we are tackling the kitchen, this has been the largest reno project I have taken on and to be frank I am quite nervous with how it will all turn out. We have had to rebuild the kitchen from scratch, reconfigure, while having no clue what it will look like has been an act of faith. Lord willing it will be complete within the next few weeks. For day to day updates be sure to follow me on Instagram. When everything is complete I will be sure to do a blogpost. With Love, Nioby.
