BOYS NURSERY - SHARING A ROOM

If you follow me on Instagram, you are aware that I attempted to move Apollos into Michael’s room when he was four months old- almost 5 months. Well, let’s just say it was a bumpy ride, but we finally got there! Apollos is 7 months old and Michael is 21 months old here is what worked for us:

  1. Have a backup plan. Plan for a middle of the night waking, even if your babies are sleeping through the night. We had a pack n play with sound machine and camera in spare bedroom. But don’t be quick to rush in there if you hear a little cry, it takes a lot for toddlers/babies to wake up from a deep sleep. Most wakings Michael didn’t even budge slept right through them.

  2. Timing is everything. If you can wait until your baby can put himself to sleep independently and has slept through the night consistently for at least 2 weeks. If you don’t have to rush it, don’t it will happen. I tried at 4.5 months but for us 6 months was the perfect time.

  3. They have the same bedtime and wake time. They both wakeup around 6:40-7:15 and bedtime is 7-7:15. Their nap schedules are a little off so one will nap in a pack n play while the other naps in his crib.

Mike and I thoroughly enjoy having them share a room, we love going in there every morning and seeing them together. Now that Apollos is crawling he will sit himself up when he wakes up and look at Michael….sooo cute! I am so thankful to be their mom and love being a boy mom!!
