"Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think of these things." Philippians 4:8

When it comes to feeding my mind, I can't help but immediately be convicted by Phil 4:8, with all the junk that is available at our finger tips, it takes all the more effort to guard our minds. Guarding our hearts and minds from the world is part of being a Christian but if you are anything like me, I can forget why it is so important. The Lord tells us all over scripture why we must guard our hearts and minds and it is to be holy, righteous and blameless–separated from the world and sin. Take a look at Romans 12:2 "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God" and Proverbs 4:23 "Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it"  and Colossians 3:2-5 "Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him glory. Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry." When we are saved we owe everything to Christ, we can't afford to go back to our fifthly sin; we become a new creation seeking God in everything and getting rid of our old self and that includes the things we read, watch and listen to.
